NNV
The Dutch Physics Association (NNV) has been the advocate of physics in the Netherlands since 1921. The NNV stands up for the discipline of physics in secondary education, higher education and scientific research in the Netherlands. The NNV wants to contribute to excellent science and a strong knowledge economy.
As a physics student, you can become a member of the NNV at a reduced rate and every second-year student can become a member of the NVV for free for one year. When you do this, you are eligible for subsidies on study trips and symposia. In addition, you will also receive the NTvN, the Dutch Journal of Physics. For more information also visit www.nnv.nl
The NNV also organizes FYSICA every year, a day-long symposium where interesting lectures are given on a variety of physics topics. As a student, the lectures are interesting to attend and often the Nobel Prize winner in Physics of that year will also give a lecture. The lectures cover a variety of topics, but are easy to follow if you have passed your propaedeutic Physics course.
